About Nik

NikFlorida (Nik Bramblett) is a graduate of Rollins College’s Hamilton Holt School and has been a public High School English teacher for OCPS since 2005. Having worked at Jones HS, an urban, inner-city minority school, and WOHS, a diverse suburban school, he has formed a lot of opinions about American public education in the near-term, about Jonathon Kozol, and about NCLB. As a person living with AIDS (PLWA), having been diagnosed with PML in the Spring of 2009, and no longer able to work due to brain damage (cerebellum, not cortex) and other complications, he also has a number of opinions about the current fight to “reform” US health care. As a beneficiary of Social Security Disability income, he has some opinions regarding US tax policy as well, as one might imagine. As a former professional musician and singer, he has opinions about music and art, as well as regarding the entertainment, tourism, and hospitality businesses, especially as a resident of Central Florida, one of the world’s premier tourist destinations.
